Our history.

Howard & Betty Timm started the trucking business back in June 1954. At the time, Howard was employed as a truck driver for a milk hauling company. In the afternoons, when he was finished with his route, he would deliver gravel from his father's farm. He used a K7 International single axle truck with a wooden hopper bottom dump box. He borrowed a G John Deere with a loader from his cousin Roy Timm to load gravel.

In the fall of 1954 Howard purchased his own loader, a 38 unstyled John Deere. That same fall he went into milk hauling for himself, purchasing a 1952 2-ton Chevy truck to haul canned milk to Rochester Dairy. In 1955 he bought a new Tandem Truck. Rochester Dairy attached a bulk tank and Howard hauled for them approximately two years. Then, in l957, he bought a new bulk tank, switched over to working for Waseca Creamery, and hauled to Borden's in Owatonna for approximately 10 years. He continued to haul gravel in the afternoons.

In the spring of 1967 Howard sold out of the milk hauling business and went into gravel and excavating fulltime. Betty answered the phone and kept the books. He began to contract gravel for area townships, which became the cornerstone of the business and still is today. Timm's Trucking has grown steadily with the help of hard-working employees and the determination to provide excellent service at a fair price.

In 1998, Howard and Betty sold the business to their two sons, Danny and Randy, who maintain the same philosophy as their parents. They too strive to provide a good work environment for our employees and quality products and services for our customers.
